Lorsque les premiers appareils photo numériques sont apparus, j’ai été surpris par leur lenteur à enregistrer les vues et par le flou qu’ils produisaient. Assez vite j’ai senti qu’ils m’ouvraient une nouvelle voie, et qu’il ne fallait pas tenter de résister et rechercher la netteté et la stabilité, mais plutôt suivre cette pente.

Alors j’ai pris le parti de travailler ce vibrato et de cultiver le mouvement, d’abord dans la nuit et dans l’obscurité des salles de spectacle, puis en plein jour et dans la nature, en donnant s’il le fallait plus de vivacité au mouvement.

Un jour le flou est devenu une certitude.

When the first digital cameras arrived, I was surprised by their slowness to record images and by the blurred aspect that they produced. I soon felt that they were opening up a whole new road to me and that I shouldn’t try to resist and strive to obtain a sharper focus or stability, but rather follow this inclination.

So I decided to work at this vibrato and cultivate the movement implied, first of all in the dark and in the obscurity of concert venues, then in broad daylight and in natural surroundings, accentuating if necessary the movement.

One day the blur became a certainty.
